The original residents of Camp Chavez lived for over a year after the January 12, 2010 earthquake on a highway median on the Route des Rails in Carrefour. The residents re-named the neighborhood, now much more crowded with the original settlers probably in the minority, for Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez after his death.
