A mother and daughter from El Salvador walk down a road near the Rio Grande River in deep south Texas just prior to being picked up by the Border Patrol for crossing illegally into the U.S. There has been a flood of mothers with children and unaccompanied minors from Central America fleeing gang violence crossing illegally with the intention of being picked up and requesting asylum.
